In honour of my friend MaestroJ I’ve decided upon a new quiz… this time on social networking. See the side bar….

Meanwhile, the “Out At Work” quiz yielded some interesting results:

The first three results show positive trends:

  • I’m openly gay at work, no one seems to mind (11) – 22%
  • My workplace has a positive vibe (10) – 20%
  • My workplace has anti-discrimination rules for queer people (8) – 16%

Then we take a downward turn:

  • My workplace has a negative vibe (6) – 12%
  • My workplace doesn’t have anti-discrimination rules (5) – 10%
  • I’m closeted at work, but not for any significant reason other than my own (4) 8%
  • I’m closeted at work, I fear the backlash (3) – 6%
  • I’m closeted at work, and I wouldn’t ever come out (2) – 4%
  • I’m openly gay at work, but that was a big mistake (1) – 2%
  • I’m openly gay at work and have had some negative reactions (1) – 2%

John Heard June 10, 2009

I’ve spend the last two months or so trying to write this blog post, and it’s a hard post to write. I went to a presentation by the infamous John Heard as part of life week at uni. He basically regurgitated the Church’s teachings. Read it for yourself. It’s heartless, and cold.

He also commented on the fall of Prop 8… and commented on how Australians are generally against the idea. [Link]

John, I know from time to time you read my blog. I find it heartbreaking thinking about how the Church is so exclusive when it comes to recognising the love between to people as not being able to fulfill ourselves. God gave me the love to share with my dearest Dan, to whom I am now affianced. I will speak to this further when I have the time and strength. But, my love for God is deep and abiding, and matched by my love for Dan, both of whom support me and help me through.

 

The wisdom of Dan June 10, 2009

I love gs281022Dan. Especially when high. He just got here and has tried to put his eye drops in with glasses on. He burst into tears of laughter when I described a cardboard box to him. He has said the following:

Me: Remember how you were saying I always lie on your right when we watch TV? I’m on your right side.
Dan: Does that make me gay?

Dan (to the Midnight Cat): My darling! Do you want to lie down here? Here, why don’t you like on my jacket and scarf, not this horrible plastic bag… this way you don’t need to hear yourself sleep.

Dan: You know how everyone says “Oh I learn more about you every day? Well baby you know enough about me to know I don’t like relinquishing control, especially in regards to gravity.
